Nomadic Boaters Discriminated Against in Favour of Tourism

Narrowboats are homes and those that moor on the towpath help people and nature in their everyday lives. The movement of a narrowboat along the canal lifts silt and prevents these manmade structures, that now provide vital blue corridors to the UK’s dwindling nature, from drying up. Yet now the community faces prejudice charges and stripping of liveable access. The knock on effect may see your local towpath privatised in the near future.
